Albania’s national hero is Skandabeg.

Born George Kastriot Skanderbeg he was was an Albanian nobleman and military commander who served the Ottoman Empire, the Republic of Venice and the Kingdom of Naples. He is considered a national hero because in the fifteenth century, he defended Albania and the West from the Ottoman Empire. He fought against the Ottoman Empire for almost 30 years. Most of his adventures are on display at the Skanderbeg Museum, a beautiful museum situated inside the castle of Kruja.
